According to a recent press release, boil water notices is in effect in certain areas in Houston, Galveston, The Woodlands, Sugarland, Conroe.

What is a boil water alert?

A boil water alert or boil water order is a public health advisory or directive given by government or health authorities to the public when drinking water is, or could be, contaminated and is not safe to drink.

In general, you will want to use boiled water for…

  • Ice cubes
  • Brushing your teeth
  • Coffee & tea
  • Baby formula
  • Washing fruits & vegetables
  • Making soups & other foods containing water

 

(And keep in mind, even if you have a pitcher filtration system, you still need to boil your water.)
