Boil Alert

According to a recent press release, boil water notices are in effect in certain areas in Houston.

What is a boil water alert?

A boil water alert or boil water order is a public health advisory or directive given by government or health authorities to the public when drinking water is, or could be, contaminated and is not safe to drink.

In general, you will want to use boiled water for…

  • Ice cubes
  • Brushing your teeth
  • Coffee & tea
  • Baby formula
  • Washing fruits & vegetables
  • Making soups & other foods containing water

(And keep in mind, even if you have a pitcher filtration system, you still need to boil your water.)

Please adhere to the City’s recommendation for water use and contact us with questions regarding this alert or any water concerns.
